Description
The AV:Link AD-AUD31 lets you connect up to three stereo audio sources to a single amplifier input. You select which source you want to hear using the push buttons on the front of the box, so there is no need to swap cables every time you change from one device to another. It works well with sources such as a DVD player, a tuner or a video player, and it keeps everything tidy behind or beside your amplifier.
Connections are made through nickel plated RCA sockets, known as phono sockets in some UK setups. There are three stereo inputs and one stereo output, which matches the way most home audio gear is wired. The heavy duty push buttons are built to stand up to regular use, and switching between sources is a simple, direct action with no menus or settings to work through.
The housing is made from black ABS plastic and measures 45 x 134 x 86mm, so it takes up little room on a shelf or in a rack. It weighs 261g. The AD-AUD31 gives channel separation of 60dB at 1kHz and crosstalk of 70dB at 1kHz, which keeps your left and right channels clean when a source is playing. Because it is a passive switch, there is no power supply to plug in and nothing to set up. You just connect your sources, connect the amplifier, and press the button for the source you want.
