Description
The Aries is a 4 light chandelier built around a square polished nickel frame hung with vertical cut glass crystal rods on all four sides. The frame measures approximately 35cm square and suspends on a polished nickel rod from a matching rectangular ceiling plate. An opal glass diffuser panel sits at the base of the crystal cage, softening the light output from the four E14 bulbs (sold separately) housed inside.
Designed for dining tables, bedrooms and smaller living spaces where a statement chandelier is needed without dominating the room, the Aries suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The rod length is adjustable on installation, allowing the chandelier to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table depending on ceiling height. The polished nickel finish reflects both daylight and lamplight, amplifying the sparkle from the cut crystal rods.
Each vertical crystal rod is precision-cut with facets that catch and refract light in different directions as the angle of view changes, creating movement across walls and ceilings when the chandelier is lit. The square frame geometry gives the piece a more architectural presence than traditional tiered crystal chandeliers, pairing well with contemporary and transitional interiors. The opal glass panel at the base prevents direct glare from the bulbs when viewed from below.
The crystal rods are arranged loosely on wire supports around the frame, allowing them to move slightly when air currents pass through the room — a subtle kinetic detail that distinguishes real crystal from fixed acrylic or glass alternatives. From Elstead Lighting.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Aries uses four E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this chandelier with 4-6W warm white LED candle bulbs at 2700K-3000K for dining and bedroom applications.
What size room does it suit?
The 35cm square frame works in dining rooms of 10-16m², bedrooms of similar size, or over kitchen islands up to 1.5m long. Larger rooms may benefit from two Aries chandeliers spaced along a dining table or island.
Is the drop adjustable?
Yes. The suspension rod length is adjustable on installation. For a dining table the chandelier typically hangs 750-850mm above the table surface, which suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above.
How is the crystal cleaned?
Switch off the power and allow the bulbs to cool fully. Wipe each crystal rod with a dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal frame or getting moisture into the bulb sockets.
