Description

The Amberhurst mini table lamp stands 380mm tall and measures 160mm square, a small lamp with a shade of Tiffany-style leaded glass in the same multicoloured pattern as the rest of the range. The glass pieces are cut individually and joined with soldered seams over a metal frame, set on a metal base. It takes one E14 golf ball bulb of up to 40W, supplied separately, and weighs 1.5kg, which is enough to keep it upright on a shelf without making it awkward to move.

Small lamps like this are for the places a full sized lamp will not go: a bedside table already holding a book and a glass of water, a shelf of books, a hall table by the front door, a desk corner, a windowsill, or the top of a piano. It gives a low, warm glow rather than a working light, which makes it useful as a background lamp left on in a corner. The leaded glass carries plenty of colour for its size, so we would use just one on its own in a small room.

It is a Class 2 lamp, double insulated, and it is not listed as dimmable, so plan on standard switching and choose a warmer, lower output bulb if you want it softer still. Dust the glass with a dry soft cloth or a soft brush, wipe marks with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately, keeping solvents and abrasive creams away from the solder lines.
