Description

The Adastra MH15V is a 100V line horn speaker built for outdoor and industrial public address (PA) use. It handles up to 15W and uses a 100V transformer with a rotary tapping selector, so you can set the power level to suit the space without swapping the unit. This makes it straightforward to balance volume across several speakers on the same 100V line.

The housing is moulded from high impact ABS, which gives it good protection against knocks and weather. It carries an IP66 rating, so it stands up to dust and heavy water spray, making it suitable for exposed walls, yards, car parks and loading bays. Reflex loading and a conical flared aperture (the horn mouth) push sound in a directed pattern, helping voice announcements carry clearly over large open areas.

This type of speaker is often called a horn speaker or a re-entrant horn, and the same product may be listed as a PA horn in some catalogues. It is well suited to speech and paging where reach matters more than fine musical detail. Fit it as part of a wider 100V system with a compatible amplifier, and use the tapping selector to keep levels even across the run. The rotary control sits on the speaker itself, so adjustments can be made during install without extra tools.

Frequently Asked

What power settings does the MH15V offer?

It rates up to 15W and uses a 100V rotary tapping selector, letting you choose from several lower power taps to match the speaker's output to the room or run.

Can I use the MH15V outdoors?

Yes. It is IP66 rated and moulded from high impact ABS, so it resists dust, water spray and physical damage. It suits exposed walls, yards and car parks.

What is a 100V line speaker?

A 100V system lets you wire many speakers on one line and set each one's power with a tap. It keeps levels consistent over long cable runs, which is ideal for paging and PA.

Is this speaker suitable for music?

It is best for speech and announcements. Horn speakers direct sound over distance, so they carry voice well but are not intended for detailed music playback.

What amplifier do I need?

You need a 100V line amplifier. Add up the tapped wattage of all speakers on the line and make sure it stays within the amplifier's rated output.

How is the power level adjusted?

A rotary tapping selector on the speaker sets the wattage tap. You can change it during install by hand, without dismantling the unit.
