Description
The Adams is a 3-light chandelier built around a spherical clear glass shade held within a burnished brass metal frame, with three E14 candle bulbs (sold separately) mounted on upright arms inside the sphere. The brass frame divides the glass into segments with vertical ribs and horizontal bands, each decorated with cast rosette medallions at the junctions. A fluted canopy above and a matching finial below the sphere mirror the rosette detailing, creating visual continuity from ceiling to base.
Designed for entrance halls, dining rooms and landings with ceiling heights of 2.5m or above, the Adams provides ambient lighting that fills the glass sphere and radiates outward through the clear panels. The 371mm diameter sphere suits rooms between 12-18m², where it can hang as a central ceiling feature without overwhelming the space. The 1524mm adjustable chain allows the pendant to be set between 711mm and 2235mm drop, accommodating both standard 2.4m ceilings and double-height spaces.
The burnished brass finish has a slightly matt, aged tone that sits between polished brass and antique brass — warmer than chrome, less reflective than polished brass, with subtle surface variation that catches light without glare. The rosette medallions are individually cast rather than stamped, giving each a three-dimensional profile that creates shadow detail under directional light. The clear glass panels allow full visibility of the bulbs, making the choice of bulb style (clear filament, frosted candle, flame-tip) a design decision that affects the overall aesthetic.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Adams takes three E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are not included. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a soft ambient glow. Clear filament bulbs are visible through the glass and contribute to the period aesthetic.
What ceiling height is needed?
The adjustable chain allows a minimum drop of 711mm and a maximum of 2235mm. For standard 2.4m ceilings, the chandelier typically hangs 700-900mm below the ceiling. For dining tables, position the fitting 750-900mm above the table surface. Double-height entrance halls can use the full chain length to lower the pendant into the space.
Is the brass lacquered or will it tarnish?
Feiss burnished brass finishes are typically lacquered to slow oxidation, but some natural darkening may occur over years in humid environments. The burnished finish already has an aged, slightly varied tone, so minor tarnishing often enhances rather than detracts from the appearance.
How is the glass cleaned?
The glass sphere is clear and shows fingerprints and dust easily. Wipe with a lint-free microfibre cloth and glass cleaner while the fitting is switched off and cool. The brass frame can be wiped with a dry cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners that may damage the lacquer.
