Description

The Wise is a 62mm diameter recessed LED downlight with an integrated 7W LED module producing 3000K warm white light at CRI 90 colour rendering. The white powder-coated aluminium bezel sits flush with the ceiling line once installed, with spring clips securing the fitting into the ceiling void and a separate driver housing positioned above the plasterboard.

Designed for residential and light commercial applications including kitchens, living rooms, hallways, retail fitting rooms and hotel bedrooms, the Wise provides general ambient downlighting where a neutral white finish is preferred. The 70mm total ceiling void depth requirement makes it compatible with standard UK joist spacings and 100mm insulation depths. The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior spaces — bathrooms and outdoor applications require higher-rated alternatives.

The Wise requires a minimum 70mm ceiling void depth to accommodate the driver housing and LED module above the plasterboard. The 62mm bezel diameter requires a cut-out of approximately 55-58mm depending on the ceiling material.

Is the Wise dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific driver supplied with the fitting. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer switch to confirm compatibility with your chosen dimmer model.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Wise to dry interior spaces only. Bathrooms require downlights rated IP44 or IP65 depending on zone proximity to the shower or bath.

What colour temperature is 3000K?

3000K is a warm white light, warmer than office lighting (4000K) but slightly cooler than traditional incandescent bulbs (2700K). It provides a neutral warmth that suits both residential and hospitality interiors.
