Description
The Solenne is a single-light alabaster pendant built around a 150mm flattened orb of natural Spanish alabaster, capped by a matt black metal disc and suspended from a slim matt black stem. A single G9 lamp socket sits inside the orb, with the stone itself acting as the diffuser. The body of the shade is solid copper paired with the alabaster, giving the fitting a substantial feel despite its compact diameter.
The orb form and small footprint suit positions where a full-size pendant would feel too heavy: above a bedside table, in pairs over a kitchen island, in a cluster of three over a stairwell, or as a single drop in a hallway or cloakroom. The matt black disc and stem read cleanly against white, plaster-pink and darker painted ceilings, and the cable can be shortened on installation to set the drop for the room.
Each alabaster orb is cut from a single block of stone, so the veining, fissures and tonal variation differ between pieces. The natural marbling flows across the curved surface and becomes more pronounced when the G9 lamp is lit, with light passing through the thinner sections of stone and casting warmer glow at the edges. The matt black cap creates a defined horizontal line that frames the orb and contains spill light upward.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Solenne take?
The pendant takes a single G9 capsule lamp, sold separately. A 3-4W G9 LED in 2700K-3000K warm white pairs well with the alabaster and brings out the natural veining when lit.
Does each alabaster orb look the same?
No. Each orb is cut from a single piece of natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, fissures and tonal variation differ between individual pendants. This is a feature of the material rather than a defect, and means no two Solenne pendants are identical.
Can it be hung over a kitchen island or bedside?
Yes. The 150mm diameter makes the Solenne well suited to bedside positions, cloakrooms, hallways and clustered or paired arrangements over kitchen islands. For an island, two or three pendants spaced 600-900mm apart and dropped 700-800mm above the worktop is a typical arrangement.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, as moisture and detergents can mark or stain the stone.
