Description
The Morfia is a 160mm mushroom-shaped alabaster table lamp carved from a single block of natural Spanish alabaster. The dome-and-stem silhouette has no visible metalwork on the body, with a G9 lamp socket housed inside the stone so the alabaster itself acts as the diffuser. When lit, the natural mineral veining glows through the dome in soft amber tones.
Sized as a small accent rather than a primary light source, the Morfia suits bedside tables, console tops, low shelves, mantelpieces and dressing tables where a 160mm-tall fitting will sit comfortably without dominating the surface. The G9 socket takes a standard capsule bulb (sold separately), and the cable exits the underside of the base so the lamp can sit close to a wall. Its 160mm diameter footprint leaves room for books, candles or trays alongside.
Because each Morfia is cut from natural alabaster, the veining, translucency and tonal warmth differ between individual lamps. Some pieces show stronger amber streaks through the stem; others have a more uniform creamy dome with subtle grey veins towards the cap. The hand-carved organic shape carries small variations in profile, which is a feature of the material rather than a manufacturing inconsistency. Solid copper internal fittings sit behind the natural brass finish on the lamp holder.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Morfia take?
The lamp uses a G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED G9 between 2W-3.5W and 2700K-3000K is recommended to bring out the amber tones in the alabaster without overheating the stone.
Does the alabaster vary between lamps?
Yes. Each Morfia is carved from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, translucency and tonal warmth differ between individual pieces. No two lamps glow in exactly the same pattern when lit.
Where does it work best?
At 160mm tall and 160mm wide, the Morfia is sized as an accent rather than a primary task light. It suits bedside tables, console tops, low shelves, mantelpieces and dressing tables where soft ambient light is wanted.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners as alabaster is porous.
