Description

The Mollis is an 8-light chandelier built around a central matt black metal stem with eight arms extending at asymmetric angles, each terminating in a half-dome shade. The shades are dual-tone — matt black on top, white acrylic underneath — with each housing a single G9 bulb (7W per bulb, sold separately). The acrylic diffuses light downward and outward, softening the G9 point source into ambient illumination.

Designed for large dining tables, open-plan kitchen-diners and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above, the Mollis spans 125cm across its widest points. The adjustable suspension rod allows the chandelier to hang between 73.7cm and 103.7cm from the ceiling, giving flexibility to set the appropriate height above a table surface or in a double-height space. The eight arms are fixed in position — they do not articulate — and the asymmetric arrangement prevents the fitting from reading as overly formal or symmetrical.

The matt black finish on the metal frame absorbs rather than reflects light, keeping the visual focus on the white acrylic domes and the pattern of light they cast onto surrounding surfaces. The IP20 rating confines the Mollis to interior dry locations. Total load across eight G9 bulbs is 56W, which provides sufficient spread of light for a 3-4m dining table or a 20-25m² room when used as the primary ceiling fitting.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Mollis takes eight G9 bulbs at 7W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs at 2700K-3000K for dining and living spaces.

What ceiling height is needed?

The suspension rod is adjustable between 73.7cm and 103.7cm drop from ceiling to base of chandelier. For installation above a dining table, a ceiling height of 2.6m or above is recommended to allow 70-80cm clearance above the table surface.

Can the arms be adjusted or repositioned?

No. The eight arms are fixed at asymmetric angles from the central stem and cannot be repositioned after manufacture. The configuration shown in the product image is permanent.

What size room does it suit?

The 125cm span and eight-bulb configuration suit rooms of 20-25m² or dining tables of 3-4m length. Smaller rooms may find the chandelier visually overwhelming; larger spaces may need supplementary lighting.
