Description

The Mane is a 120mm diameter round LED wall light with a white powder-coated aluminium body and a high-strength plastic diffuser running horizontally across the centre. The integrated 3W LED emits warm 3000K light in two directions: upward and downward from the central horizontal slot, creating a wash effect on the wall surface above and below the fitting.

Rated IP54 for outdoor use, the Mane fits on garden walls, patio boundaries, external house walls near doorways, and along pathways where low-level accent lighting is needed without glare at eye level. The dual-direction output makes it useful for marking steps, changes in level, or architectural features after dark. The 30mm projection from the wall keeps the profile compact, while the 120mm diameter provides enough presence to read as intentional accent lighting rather than utility marking.

The white aluminium body resists corrosion in typical UK outdoor conditions and the powder coat finish maintains colour stability under UV exposure. The plastic diffuser distributes the 3W LED output evenly, preventing visible hotspots or striping in the light pattern. The fitting operates on mains voltage (AC 110-240V) and the integrated LED eliminates the need for bulb replacement over the typical lifespan of the fitting. What does IP54 mean for outdoor use?

IP54 indicates protection against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction. The Mane can be fitted on external walls exposed to rain, but should not be submerged or installed where it will face direct high-pressure water jets (e.g. from a pressure washer).

Does the LED produce light in all directions or just up and down?

The Mane produces light in two directions only: upward and downward from the horizontal diffuser slot running across the centre of the fitting. It does not emit light forward or to the sides, so the wall behind the fitting receives the wash effect.

Can the LED be replaced if it fails?

The 3W LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for tens of thousands of hours of operation, typically outlasting the fitting itself. Maytoni provides a 3-year warranty covering LED failure.

How is the Mane wired and mounted?

The fitting operates on mains voltage and requires connection to a suitable outdoor-rated electrical circuit, typically installed by a qualified electrician. It mounts to a standard wall box or directly to a solid wall surface using fixings appropriate to the wall construction (masonry plugs for brick, wall anchors for render).
