Description
The Gong is a 35cm rechargeable LED table lamp with a rust-toned corten finish metal body, an opal acrylic diffuser and a flexible silicone loop handle. The integrated 2.5W LED provides 140 lumens of 3000K warm light through the opal diffuser, rated at IP54 for outdoor use on patios, balconies and garden tables. The lamp charges via USB and includes a magnetic base that secures the lamp to metal surfaces.
Designed for both indoor and outdoor portable lighting, the Gong suits terrace dining, balcony seating areas, outdoor lounges and garden side tables where mains wiring is impractical. The IP54 rating protects the lamp from dust ingress and water splashing, making it suitable for sheltered outdoor positions but not full exposure to driving rain. The dimmable LED allows brightness adjustment from full 140lm output down to a low ambient glow, controlled by a touch sensor on the lamp body. The silicone handle folds flat when not in use and provides a comfortable carry grip when moving the lamp between locations.
The corten finish is a powder-coated simulation of weathered steel rather than genuine corten, giving the rust-toned surface without the gradual patina development or surface dust of real weathering steel. The 13cm diameter footprint keeps the lamp compact on small bistro tables and side surfaces, while the 0.67kg weight gives stability without needing to be anchored. The magnetic base works on steel outdoor furniture, metal railings and any ferrous surface, preventing the lamp from tipping in light wind when placed on a magnetic-compatible surface. Battery runtime depends on brightness level — expect 6-8 hours at full output, longer on dimmed settings.

Frequently Asked
How is the lamp charged?
The Gong charges via USB cable, which is included. Plug the USB end into any standard USB power adapter, computer port or USB power bank. Charge time is typically 3-4 hours for a full charge.
What does IP54 mean for outdoor use?
IP54 means the lamp is protected from dust ingress and water splashing from any direction. It can handle rain, patio washing and garden sprinklers in sheltered positions, but should not be left fully exposed to driving rain or submerged.
How long does the battery last?
Battery runtime varies with brightness. At full 140lm output expect 6-8 hours. At lower dimmed settings the lamp can run 12+ hours on a single charge. The touch sensor on the body cycles through brightness levels.
Does the magnetic base work on all surfaces?
The magnetic base only adheres to ferrous metal surfaces — steel outdoor furniture, metal railings, steel side tables. It will not stick to aluminium, wood, plastic or glass surfaces, where the lamp sits on its circular base without magnetic attachment.
