Description

The Gleon is a matt black wall light combining an integrated LED backlight with an adjustable reading spot and a built-in USB charging port. The main body houses an 11.5W 3000K LED behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser, casting soft ambient backlight onto the wall. A separate cylindrical reading light projects from the front face, angled independently to direct task light onto a book, tablet or bedside table.

Designed for bedrooms, hotel rooms and reading corners where both ambient and task lighting are needed without separate fittings, the Gleon mounts 900-1200mm above the mattress on either side of a bed or 1400-1600mm above floor level beside an armchair. The 180mm width provides a stable horizontal shelf on the top surface, suitable for resting a phone, glasses or alarm clock. The integrated USB port sits on the underside of the shelf, allowing overnight charging without reaching for a wall socket.

The powder-coated aluminium construction gives the fitting a 1.2kg presence without sagging on plasterboard walls when fixed to a standard electrical back box. The matt black finish absorbs reflections under daylight and pairs cleanly with dark-toned interiors, charcoal greys and monochrome schemes. The reading light is factory-set to 3000K to match the backlight colour temperature, avoiding the visual clash of mixed white tones when both LEDs are on.

Both LEDs are non-dimmable and rated IP20 for dry indoor use only. The fitting carries Ideal Lux's 5-year warranty and is part of their Italian-designed contemporary collection.

Can the reading light be angled?

Yes. The cylindrical reading spot on the front face can be angled independently to direct task light onto a book, bedside table or reading position. The backlight remains fixed to the wall.

What does the USB port charge?

The integrated USB port sits on the underside of the shelf and delivers standard 5V output, suitable for charging phones, tablets, e-readers and other USB-rechargeable devices overnight. See the Specification tab for the exact USB output rating.

Is this suitable as a bedside light?

Yes. The combination of ambient backlight and adjustable reading spot makes the Gleon well-suited to bedside use. Mount 900-1200mm above the mattress to position the reading light at a comfortable angle and the shelf at arm's reach for a phone or glasses.

Can it be dimmed?

No. Both the backlight and reading spot are non-dimmable integrated LEDs. Consider pairing with a separate bedside lamp if variable brightness is needed.
