Description

The Dafne is a surface-mounted LED spotlight built from a black aluminium cylinder with a recessed head that swivels on a concealed pivot joint. The integrated 10W LED sits behind a ribbed reflector and emits warm 3000K light at a focused beam angle, suited to accent lighting and directional task lighting. The spotlight mounts directly to a standard UK ceiling rose or junction box on the ceiling surface, with the 16cm cylinder extending downward and the swivelling head allowing the beam to be angled in any direction across approximately 180 degrees of movement.

Designed for residential and commercial interiors where focused light is needed without recessing into the ceiling structure, the Dafne suits highlighting artwork, shelving, countertops or merchandise displays in retail settings. The compact 5cm diameter of the cylinder keeps the fitting unobtrusive on white or light-coloured ceilings, while the matt black finish provides a defined contrast on darker surfaces. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments — this is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor installation.

The aluminium body dissipates heat from the LED effectively enough to allow the fitting to operate for extended periods without thermal cutout. The black powder-coated finish has a low-sheen matt surface that minimises reflections under daylight and pairs cleanly with industrial, mid-century and contemporary interiors. The integrated LED cannot be replaced, but the 10W module is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use at 3000K — around 10 years of typical domestic use at 7 hours per day. The integrated LED is not compatible with standard UK trailing-edge or leading-edge dimmers. The fitting operates at fixed 10W output on mains power.

Can the head be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The spotlight head swivels on a concealed pivot joint, allowing the beam to be redirected across approximately 180 degrees of movement without tools. This adjustment can be made at any time after fitting.

What beam angle does it produce?

Maytoni does not publish the exact beam angle for the Dafne, but the ribbed reflector design typically produces a focused spot beam between 30-45 degrees, making it suitable for accent lighting rather than general ambient lighting.
