Description

The Charlize is a 210mm diameter LED pendant light with a hemispherical silver-toned glass shade suspended from a dark grey brushed aluminium body. An integrated 6W LED sits behind an opal acrylic diffuser inside the shade, casting 220 lumens of warm 3000K light downward through the glass. The silver finish on the glass is created by an electrolyzed coating on the interior surface, which reflects and softens the LED output while giving the exterior a metallic sheen.

Designed for bedside positions, reading nooks, and low-level task lighting over kitchen counters or breakfast bars, the Charlize works in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 2.8m. The adjustable cable allows the pendant to drop between 400mm and 1700mm from the ceiling, so it can be set to hang 700-900mm above a worktop or 600-800mm above a bedside table depending on the installation point. The polished chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses.

The combination of brushed dark grey aluminium and silver glass creates tonal contrast without introducing strong colour, making the Charlize compatible with monochrome interiors, grey-toned schemes, and spaces where matt black or charcoal finishes dominate. The 0.71kg weight keeps the pendant stable on the cable without requiring additional ceiling support beyond a standard rose. The 220 lumens output is sufficient for task lighting but not for sole ambient lighting in rooms larger than 8-10m².

No. The 6W LED is integrated into the pendant and cannot be replaced by the end user. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use, equivalent to around 10-15 years of typical domestic use at 4-6 hours per day.

What room size does this suit?

The 220 lumens output makes the Charlize suitable for task lighting rather than ambient lighting. It works well as bedside lighting, over a breakfast bar, or in a reading corner, but would not provide sufficient light as the sole source in a living room or kitchen larger than 8-10m².

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means the Charlize is not protected against water ingress and must not be installed in bathroom zones 0, 1 or 2. It can be used in zone 3 (areas more than 600mm from a bath or shower) or outside bathroom zones entirely.

How is the silver finish applied to the glass?

The silver tone is created by an electrolyzed metallic coating applied to the interior surface of the glass shade. This coating reflects the LED output and creates the metallic appearance visible from the outside.
