Cabaret LED Table Lamp - Brass

The Cabaret is a table lamp built around a curved brass-finished metal arm that extends forward from a circular base, holding a transparent glass shade at the end of the cantilever. An integrated 8W LED sits inside the shade, casting 3000K warm white light downward and outward through the clear glass. The shade shape resembles a folded or draped sheet of glass, with angular facets and a horizontal top bar, designed by French designer Pierre Gonalons for Maytoni's Cabaret collection.

Designed for desks, bedside tables and side tables where task or reading light is needed without a traditional lampshade blocking the view, the forward-reaching arm positions the light source 41cm from the base, allowing the lamp to overhang the edge of a desk or table and direct light onto a work surface or book without the base occupying valuable working space. The 48.5cm height suits standard desk and bedside table heights of 60-75cm, positioning the shade at roughly eye level when seated.

The brass finish on the metal frame is a satin or brushed brass rather than high-polish, reducing reflections and pairing with both contemporary and mid-century interiors. The transparent glass shade reveals the LED module inside rather than concealing it, treating the light source as part of the design. The curved arm and circular base give the lamp a footprint of 22cm width by 41cm length, with most of the weight concentrated in the base to counterbalance the forward projection of the arm and shade.

The IP20 rating limits the lamp to dry indoor locations away from bathrooms, kitchens or outdoor areas. The 8W LED output is fixed and not dimmable unless paired with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer on the mains circuit. The glass shade is removable for cleaning, and the clear surface shows fingerprints and dust more readily than frosted or opaque alternatives.

Is the Cabaret dimmable?

The integrated 8W LED is fixed-output and not dimmable by default. If you need dimming capability, the lamp must be connected to a compatible trailing-edge LED dimmer on the mains circuit. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility.

What height desk or table does it suit?

The 48.5cm total height positions the shade at roughly eye level when seated at a standard desk (70-75cm high) or bedside table (60-65cm high). The forward-reaching arm allows the lamp to overhang the edge of a desk and direct light onto a work surface without the base occupying desk space.

Can the glass shade be removed for cleaning?

Yes. The transparent glass shade lifts off the metal arm for cleaning. The clear surface shows fingerprints and dust more readily than frosted glass, so regular wiping with a microfibre cloth keeps it clear.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits the lamp to dry indoor locations. It cannot be used in bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor areas where it may be exposed to moisture.
