Allier 4 Light Orb Chandelier - Weathered Oak Wood & Antique Forged Iron

The Allier is a 521mm diameter orb chandelier constructed from kiln-dried weathered oak wood bands encircling an antique forged iron frame with four E14 candelabra bulb fittings. The oak staves form concentric rings that create a spherical cage around the central cluster of candle-style arms, each positioned to direct light outward through the gaps between the wood bands.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and sitting rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Allier suits spaces where a substantial suspended fitting is needed without overwhelming the room. The adjustable drop of 740-2264mm allows the chandelier to be set at the appropriate height for table lighting (typically 700-900mm above a dining surface) or positioned higher for ambient hall lighting. The 521mm sphere occupies approximately the same visual space as a 500mm diameter globe pendant but with an open structure that maintains sight lines across the room.

The weathered oak finish replicates the silvered-grey patina of aged timber exposed to weather, with visible grain and tonal variation between individual staves. The antique forged iron frame contrasts the lighter wood with a darker graphite-brown metallic finish that shows deliberate surface texture from the forging process. The combination pairs well with farmhouse, industrial, French country and transitional interiors that mix natural materials with metal accents. Each of the four arms takes a standard E14 candle bulb up to 60W (sold separately), giving control over light output and colour temperature depending on the chosen bulb.

The chandelier takes four E14 candelabra bulbs up to 60W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional look, or clear filament-style LED bulbs for a more visible decorative element.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 740mm means the chandelier needs at least 2.4m ceiling height to avoid head clearance issues when used over a dining table. Higher ceilings up to 3.8m can accommodate the full 2264mm maximum drop, with the chain adjusted on installation to suit the specific room.

Is the wood finish consistent between pieces?

The weathered oak is kiln-dried natural wood, so grain patterns, knots and tonal variation differ between individual chandeliers. This is characteristic of the material and contributes to the authentic weathered appearance.

How is the oak cleaned?

Dust the wood bands with a dry microfibre cloth or soft brush. Avoid soaking the wood or using spray cleaners, as moisture can raise the grain or alter the finish. The iron frame can be wiped with a barely-damp cloth if needed, then dried immediately.
