Description

The Hinkley Ainsley is a 2-light bathroom wall light with turned polished chrome cups holding cased opal glass shades, mounted on a horizontal chrome bar fixed to a circular chrome backplate. Each shade houses a 3W LED G9 bulb at 3000K (included), giving warm white light diffused through the opal glass. The fitting is IP44 rated for bathroom zone 2 and 3 use.

Designed for mirror lighting in bathrooms, the Ainsley mounts above or beside a mirror at typical eye level (1600-1800mm from floor). The 406mm width suits standard bathroom mirrors from 600mm upwards, with the twin shades providing even facial lighting without harsh shadows. The 206mm projection means the fitting clears most mirror surfaces by 50-100mm, and the opal glass prevents glare when viewed directly. The IP44 rating allows installation in bathrooms outside the immediate shower/bath splash zones.

The polished chrome finish on the metal frame creates a reflective, high-gloss surface that pairs with contemporary chrome taps, shower fittings and towel rails. What bathroom zones is this rated for?

The IP44 rating qualifies the Ainsley for bathroom zones 2 and 3. Zone 2 is the area within 600mm of a bath or shower tray, and zone 3 is the remainder of the bathroom outside zones 0, 1 and 2. It cannot be installed in zone 0 (inside the shower enclosure or bath) or zone 1 (directly above the bath or shower to 2.25m height).

Does it come with bulbs?

Yes. The fitting includes 2 x 3W LED G9 bulbs at 3000K warm white. These are integrated with the product and do not need to be purchased separately.

What mirror width does it suit?

The 406mm width of the fitting works best above or beside mirrors from 600mm wide upwards. For smaller mirrors, consider a single-light version if available in the Ainsley range.

Can it be mounted vertically?

The Ainsley is designed for horizontal mounting only, with the two shades sitting level on a horizontal bar. Vertical mounting would place both shades in a stacked configuration, which is not the intended orientation.
