Cap fittings explained

The cap is how the bulb connects, and several types appear here. E27 and E14 are the larger and smaller Edison screw fittings; B22 is the bayonet cap that pushes and twists; GU10 is the twist-lock spotlight cap; and G9 and G4 are the small pin caps used in compact fittings.
