This is an oversized 148mm clear globe bulb built for looks as much as light, with a 2.5W LED behind the glass. Inside the glass sits an etched acrylic sleeve that spreads the light and cuts glare, so it is comfortable to look at head on. It gives 140 lumens of warm white light at 2600K, a gentle, low-level light. At 2600K the colour is a soft, homely warm white that flatters most rooms.

A big globe like this is made to be seen, so it works best in open pendants, table bases and bare-flex fittings where the glass is on show. The soft, low-glare output suits living rooms, bedrooms and bars, adding warmth and a low, cosy light rather than a bright working one.
