Can it be left outdoors in winter?

Yes. The IP44 rating protects against rain, splashes and dust, so the fitting can remain in place year-round in typical UK weather. If snow accumulates heavily around the base, the stake may shift slightly in soft ground and may need re-seating once the thaw occurs.
