Description
The Willoughby is a 432mm tall outdoor wall lantern with a clear seeded glass cylinder suspended inside an oil rubbed bronze frame. Two E14 candle bulbs sit inside the glass (sold separately), each up to 40W, casting light through the seeded texture and out through the open top and bottom of the cylinder. The bronze bracket curves from the wall plate over the top of the glass in an arched handle form, with decorative turned knobs at the peak and at each end of the lower mounting ring.
Designed for covered porches, sheltered doorways, and exterior walls under eaves, the lantern carries an IP44 rating — protected against solid objects above 1mm and water splashing from any direction, but not suitable for fully exposed positions with direct rain or hose-down. The 219mm projection from the wall means it needs clearance from door swings and walkways. The seeded glass diffuses the light from the two bulbs without fully obscuring them, so filament-style LED candle bulbs show their shape when lit.
The oil rubbed bronze finish is a dark, almost black-brown metal tone with subtle highlights where the raised details catch light. This finish is standard across traditional and transitional outdoor lighting in North America and pairs with brick, painted timber cladding, and stone exteriors in warmer earth tones. The bronze frame, glass cylinder and all fixings are designed to resist corrosion in typical UK outdoor conditions, backed by Hinkley's 5 year guarantee.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Willoughby takes two E14 small Edison screw candle bulbs, each up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs around 4-6W and 2700K. Filament-style bulbs are visible through the seeded glass when lit.
Can it be used in fully exposed positions?
No. The IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction but not direct heavy rain or hose-down. The lantern is designed for covered porches, doorways under eaves, and sheltered exterior walls. Fully exposed coastal or open-garden positions would require a higher IP rating.
How far does it project from the wall?
The lantern projects 219mm from the wall surface to the outer edge of the glass cylinder. Check clearance for door swings, walkways and narrow passages before installing.
