Description
The Wexford is a 338mm outdoor wall lantern with hand-leaded glass panels set in a black and silver-finished metal frame. Each glass panel comprises five separate pieces of glass bound together with lead came, creating a diamond-pattern detail visible when the lantern is lit. The lantern houses two E27 bulb fittings (bulbs sold separately) behind the leaded glass, with a shaped canopy top and rectangular profile that projects 86mm from the wall.
Designed for porches, covered entrances, garden walls and patios on period and traditional properties, the Wexford provides localised illumination within a 2-3m radius when fitted with standard 40-60W bulbs. The IP23 rating offers protection against vertically falling rain and objects larger than 12.5mm, making it suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as under eaves, covered porches or recessed wall alcoves. The lantern mounts via a metal backplate fixed to the wall surface with two screws (fixings not included).
The hand-leaded glass construction gives the Wexford visual depth when lit, with the lead came casting additional shadow patterns onto surrounding surfaces. The black metal frame with silver highlights pairs with slate, brick, painted render and stone exteriors, and the traditional lantern proportions work on properties built between the Victorian period and the mid-20th century. The dual-bulb configuration provides more light output than single-bulb lanterns of similar size, making the Wexford practical for areas where stronger illumination is needed without increasing the fixture's physical footprint.

Frequently Asked
What does IP23 mean for outdoor use?
IP23 provides protection against vertically falling rain and objects larger than 12.5mm. The Wexford is suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as under eaves, covered porches or recessed wall alcoves, but should not be exposed to driving rain or direct water spray.
What bulbs does it take?
The lantern takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K for a traditional amber glow through the leaded glass.
How is the leaded glass constructed?
Each glass panel comprises five separate pieces of clear glass bound together with lead came in a diamond pattern. The lead lines are visible when the lantern is lit and create additional shadow detail on surrounding surfaces.
What is the projection from the wall?
The lantern projects 86mm from the wall surface once mounted. This allows it to fit on narrow porch walls or beside doorways without obstructing the entrance path.
