Description

The Wave is a 900mm outdoor bollard light built from grey powder-coated cast aluminium with a white polycarbonate diffuser at the head. The diffuser houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately) and spreads light evenly across pathways, driveways and garden borders without creating harsh downward spots.

Designed for residential gardens, patio edges and pathway marking, the bollard carries an IP44 rating suitable for general outdoor use in UK weather conditions. The 105mm square footprint requires a shallow foundation or set into paving, with the bollard standing approximately 900mm above ground once installed. The E27 socket accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to the rated wattage, allowing control over light temperature and brightness depending on the chosen bulb.

The grey powder-coated finish on the cast aluminium provides corrosion resistance and suits both contemporary and traditional garden schemes. The white polycarbonate diffuser remains translucent when the light is off and glows softly when lit, turning the entire head into the visible light source rather than exposing the bulb directly. The aluminium construction gives the bollard enough weight to resist movement once installed without requiring additional ballast.

What bulb does it take?

The Wave takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb rated at 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for garden pathway lighting.

Is it suitable for coastal or very wet locations?

The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction and dust ingress, making it suitable for general UK garden use. For coastal or very exposed locations with salt spray, regular cleaning of the powder-coated surface is recommended to maintain the finish over time.

How is it installed?

The bollard requires a shallow foundation or can be set into paving slabs. The base has mounting points for fixing to a concrete pad or similar stable surface. Wiring must be run underground in suitable conduit to the bollard position, connected to mains supply via an outdoor-rated junction or transformer depending on your installation method.

Can it be used with a dimmer?

Yes, the specification states it is dimmable. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you choose — use a dimmable LED bulb paired with an LED-compatible dimmer switch for best results.
