Description

The Viritis is an 800mm outdoor LED bollard light with a brown powder-coated aluminium body and a transparent glass diffuser at the head. An integrated 12W LED produces 4000K neutral white light directed downwards onto pathways, driveways and garden borders without spilling light upwards or sideways.

Designed for residential garden paths, hotel exterior walkways and commercial courtyard perimeters where task lighting is needed without light pollution, the Viritis casts a pool of illumination approximately 1.5-2m in diameter at ground level. The IP54 rating protects the internal components from dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the bollard suitable for year-round outdoor installation in UK weather conditions. The 600mm cable exits from the base, allowing the bollard to be wired into ground-level junction boxes or conduit runs.

The brown powder-coat finish provides a matt surface that resists UV degradation and corrosion from rain and damp soil contact. The colour blends into garden planting and natural timber deck surrounds more subtly than black or grey finishes. The 85mm square footprint is compact enough to place along narrow paths without creating trip hazards, and the aluminium construction keeps the weight manageable for single-person installation. The transparent glass diffuser is replaceable if damaged by impact or weathering over time.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between 4000K and 3000K for outdoor path lighting?

This Viritis uses a 4000K neutral white LED, which produces a cooler, crisper light compared to the 3000K warm white version. 4000K works well in commercial settings and modern gardens where clarity and visibility are prioritised over ambient warmth. For traditional gardens or residential pathways where a warmer tone is preferred, the 3000K variant may be a better choice.

Can the Viritis be installed on soft ground or soil?

Yes, but proper foundation is required. The 600mm cable exits from the base, so the bollard needs to be mounted on a concrete plinth or paving slab with the cable routed through conduit or buried armoured cable to a junction box. Installing directly into soil without a stable base will cause the bollard to lean or settle unevenly over time.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of operation, which equates to around 10 years of use at 8 hours per night. If the LED fails within the 5-year warranty period, the entire fitting is replaced under warranty terms.

How far apart should Viritis bollards be spaced along a path?

For continuous path illumination without dark gaps, space bollards approximately 3-4m apart. For accent lighting where pools of light are acceptable with darker sections between, spacing can extend to 5-6m. Actual spacing depends on the path width and the amount of ambient light already present from adjacent buildings or streetlights.
