Viritis Outdoor LED Bollard Light 12W 4000K - Black

The Viritis is an 850mm tall outdoor LED bollard light constructed from powder-coated black aluminium with a transparent glass diffuser panel. A 12W LED module integrated into the top section projects light downward through the glass, casting a neutral 4000K wash onto pathways, patios and entrance areas. The IP54 rating protects internal components from dust ingress and water spray from any direction.

Designed for residential driveways, garden paths, commercial forecourts and hospitality outdoor areas, the Viritis mounts on a concrete base or paved surface using the 85mm square footprint. The 600mm cable allows for connection to underground wiring via a junction box buried beneath the bollard base. The downward light distribution minimises glare and light pollution while keeping ground-level visibility clear for navigation and safety lighting.

The powder-coated aluminium construction resists corrosion in coastal and high-humidity environments, and the matt black finish maintains colour stability under prolonged UV exposure. The transparent glass diffuser softens the LED output without significantly reducing lumen delivery, giving functional light levels without harsh shadows. The 4000K colour temperature sits between warm and cool white, producing a neutral tone that works across both modern and traditional architectural styles.

Can the Viritis be installed on grass or soil?

No. The bollard requires a solid mounting surface such as concrete, paving slabs or a compacted gravel bed with a concrete pad beneath. The 85mm square base needs a stable foundation to remain vertical and the 600mm cable must connect to underground wiring via a buried junction box.

What is the light output and colour temperature?

The integrated 12W LED produces 4000K cool white light. This neutral colour temperature sits between warm white (2700-3000K) and daylight (5000K+), giving clear visibility without the yellow cast of warm white or the blue tone of daylight bulbs.

Is the IP54 rating sufficient for exposed coastal locations?

IP54 offers protection from dust and water spray, which covers most UK outdoor conditions including rain and garden hose cleaning. In exposed coastal locations with salt spray, the powder-coated aluminium construction provides corrosion resistance, though periodic rinsing with fresh water extends the finish life.

Can the LED be replaced?

The LED module is integrated into the bollard. If the LED fails within the 5-year warranty period, contact Ideal Lux for warranty service. The LED is rated for 30,000+ hours of typical use, equivalent to approximately 10 years at 8 hours per night.
