Description

The Viritis is a 600mm outdoor LED bollard light in brown powder-coated aluminium, built around a 12W integrated 3000K LED that casts warm white light downwards through a transparent glass diffuser. The brown finish sits between bronze and rust tones, allowing the bollard to blend into garden borders, gravel paths and planted areas without standing out as obviously metallic.

Designed for pathways, driveway edges, garden borders and patio perimeters, the Viritis directs light downwards to illuminate the ground within a 1-1.5m radius of the bollard, providing orientation without creating upward glare. The IP54 rating protects the internal components from dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the bollard suitable for exposed positions in UK gardens, coastal areas and courtyards. The 600mm cable is designed to be buried during installation or run through existing conduit to a mains junction box.

The square-section aluminium body measures 85mm x 85mm at the base, giving the bollard a compact footprint that allows it to be installed close to path edges or between planting without requiring a large clear area. The powder-coated finish provides corrosion resistance in damp conditions and UV resistance to prevent fading under direct sunlight. The 12W LED output is fixed at 3000K warm white and is not dimmable.

What IP rating does the Viritis carry?

The bollard carries an IP54 rating, meaning it is protected from dust ingress and water splashes from any direction. This makes it suitable for UK gardens, pathways and exposed outdoor positions, but it is not designed for full submersion or high-pressure water jets.

How is the bollard installed?

The Viritis requires mains 230V wiring run through buried conduit or a prepared cable channel to a mains junction box. The 600mm cable exits from the base of the bollard and is designed to be buried during installation. Most installations require a qualified electrician to comply with Part P Building Regulations for outdoor electrical work.

Can the LED be replaced?

The 12W LED is integrated into the bollard and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for tens of thousands of hours of use and is covered by Ideal Lux's 5-year warranty.

What colour temperature is the light?

The integrated LED is fixed at 3000K, which produces warm white light comparable to a traditional halogen bulb. The light is not dimmable.
