Description

The Viritis is a 600mm tall outdoor LED bollard light with an 85mm square head housing an integrated 12W LED at 3000K, set on a powder-coated black aluminium column. A transparent glass panel in the underside of the head directs light downwards onto pathways, driveways and garden borders without spilling upwards into the sky or neighbouring windows.

Designed for residential driveways, public footpaths, garden perimeters and commercial landscape lighting, the Viritis carries an IP54 rating protecting it against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction. The bollard mounts directly into paving or soil using ground anchors or a base plate, with a 600mm cable entry point for mains connection. The square profile and black finish make the fitting visually recessive in daylight, blending into garden borders and architectural hard landscaping.

The powder-coated aluminium body resists corrosion in coastal and high-rainfall environments, and the sealed LED housing requires no maintenance or bulb replacement. The 85mm square head sits proportionally on the 600mm column without looking top-heavy, and the downward-only light distribution minimises light pollution while clearly marking pathway edges and steps. What does the IP54 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP54 provides dust protection (first digit 5) and protection against water splashes from any direction (second digit 4). The Viritis is suitable for general outdoor use including exposed pathways, driveways and gardens. It is not submersible and should not be installed in areas subject to standing water or direct hosing.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 12W LED is integrated into the sealed housing and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for typical lifespans exceeding 25,000 hours, which equates to over 10 years of use at 6 hours per night. The 5-year warranty covers LED failure within that period.

How is it mounted?

The bollard requires a below-ground installation with mains cable entry at the base. It can be set into concrete footings in soil or mounted onto a paved surface using a base plate (not supplied). The 600mm cable length allows for wiring connections below ground level. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Does the light spread sideways or only downwards?

The transparent glass panel is positioned on the underside of the head, directing light downwards only. This minimises light spill onto neighbouring properties and reduces sky glow, making the Viritis suitable for installations where light pollution is a concern.
