Description
The Viritis is a 650mm-tall LED bollard light with a powder-coated white aluminium body, transparent glass diffuser panel, and an integrated 12W LED delivering 4000K cool white light downward onto pathways and driveways. The IP54 rating protects the internal LED module and driver from dust ingress and water splashes, making the fitting suitable for uncovered outdoor installations in UK weather conditions.
Designed for pathway lighting, driveway edges, garden borders and patio perimeters, the Viritis casts a defined pool of light onto the ground immediately below the fitting. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white output that sits between warm yellow and clinical daylight, offering clear visibility without the colour shift of warmer 2700K-3000K LEDs. The downward light distribution minimises spill onto adjacent planting and avoids upward light pollution.
The aluminium construction is powder-coated to resist corrosion in damp and coastal environments, while the transparent glass diffuser sits flush within the rectangular body to prevent water pooling. The 85mm square footprint allows the bollard to be installed in narrow border beds and alongside paving without obstructing pathways. The 600mm cable run from the base to the internal driver provides installation flexibility when wiring from a junction box set into paving or buried conduit.
Manufactured by Ideal Lux in Italy, the Viritis carries a 5-year warranty covering the LED module, driver and aluminium housing. The integrated LED is non-replaceable and rated for approximately 50,000 hours of operation, equivalent to over 11 years of continuous use or 25+ years under typical residential pathway lighting schedules of 5-6 hours per evening.

Frequently Asked
Can the Viritis be used in uncovered areas exposed to rain?
Yes. The IP54 rating confirms the fitting is protected against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for uncovered pathways, driveways and garden borders exposed to UK weather. The fitting is not submersible and should not be installed in areas prone to flooding or standing water.
Is the LED replaceable?
No. The Viritis uses an integrated 12W LED module that is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 50,000 hours of operation, which translates to over 11 years of continuous use. When the LED eventually reaches end-of-life, the entire fitting would need to be replaced rather than just the light source.
What colour is 4000K?
4000K is a cool white colour temperature that sits between warm yellow (2700K-3000K) and daylight (5000K+). It produces a neutral white light with minimal yellow or blue tint, offering clear visibility for pathways and driveways without the warmer glow associated with traditional outdoor lighting.
How is the bollard powered and installed?
The Viritis requires mains 230V power fed through underground cable to a junction box or conduit termination point. The 600mm cable from the base of the bollard connects to this supply. Installation requires a qualified electrician and compliance with Part P Building Regulations for outdoor electrical work.
