Description
The Vetra is a small single pendant light built around a 20cm opal glass globe held off-axis by a slender brushed gold metal stem. The stem rises straight from the canopy then bends sharply downward, cradling the globe at the bend rather than suspending it from above. A single E14 bulb (sold separately, up to 60W) sits inside the opal glass, which diffuses the light evenly across the full surface of the sphere.
With a 47cm overall height and 150cm of adjustable cable, the Vetra suits dining tables, kitchen islands, bedside positions and stairwell drops. Hung in a single over a bedside table or in multiples along a 2-3m island, the off-axis stem gives the fitting a sculptural profile from any angle. The 2kg weight fits a standard UK ceiling rose and the cable can be shortened on installation to set the globe at the right height for the surface beneath.
The brushed gold finish on the metal frame has a warm, satin tone rather than a high-polish shine, which keeps reflections soft and pairs comfortably with mid-century, art deco and contemporary interiors. The opal glass globe is a true milky white when unlit and glows uniformly when on, with no hot spot visible through the diffuser. The bent-stem geometry is the defining detail, drawn from the IC-series language of late-2010s Italian lighting and adapted here at a smaller, more domestic scale.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Vetra take?
The Vetra takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. A 4-6W warm-white LED candle or golf-ball bulb at 2700K-3000K typically gives the best result, providing a soft glow through the opal glass without overheating the fitting.
Can the drop height be adjusted?
Yes. The 150cm cable can be shortened during installation to set the globe at the height needed for the surface or position beneath. Over a dining table the globe typically sits 70-80cm above the surface; over a bedside or kitchen island, 60-90cm is a common range.
Is it suitable for dining tables and kitchen islands?
The 20cm globe and 2kg weight suit single-pendant placement over a bedside table, hallway niche, or one section of a longer island. For a 2-3m island or dining table, hang two or three Vetra pendants in a row, spaced 60-80cm apart, to get even coverage along the length.
Is the gold finish polished or brushed?
The metal stem and globe collar have a brushed satin gold finish with a warm tone rather than a mirror-polished shine. This softens reflections and helps the fitting sit comfortably alongside both modern and more traditionally-styled interiors.
