Description

The Vetra is a 1.85m modern floor lamp built around a single 24cm opal glass globe held on a cantilevered matt black metal arm. A slim vertical stem rises from a weighted circular base, breaks at a right angle near the top, and supports the frosted glass shade in an offset position. The shade takes one E27 GLS filament bulb (sold separately).

Designed for living rooms, reading corners and bedrooms, the offset arm lets the globe sit clear of the stem, projecting light forward over a sofa, armchair or side table without the base needing to be tucked directly beneath the seating. The 30cm-diameter disc base keeps the footprint compact for smaller corners and apartment layouts, while the 1.85m height places the shade at standing eye level for ambient rather than direct task light.

The frame is finished in low-sheen matt black throughout, including the base disc, stem, horizontal arm and shade collar. The opal glass globe is fully frosted on the exterior, diffusing the bulb evenly so no filament hot-spot shows through. At 8.35kg the lamp has enough mass in the base to counter the cantilevered shade without tipping. The combination of a graphic black armature and a soft white sphere suits modern, monochrome, Japandi and loft-style interiors.

What bulb does the Vetra take?

The lamp takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. An E27 GLS filament bulb suits the open opal globe, but standard E27 LED bulbs work equally well. Refer to the Specification tab for the maximum wattage.

Is it dimmable?

The Vetra has no built-in dimmer. Dimming depends on the bulb fitted and the circuit it's plugged into. Pair a dimmable E27 LED with a compatible plug-in or wall dimmer to control the brightness.

Will it tip with the offset shade?

No. The 8.35kg weight is concentrated in the circular metal base, which counterbalances the cantilevered arm. The lamp stands stably on hard floors and short-pile rugs without needing to be braced against a wall.

What size room suits it?
