Description

The Venera is a 3-light drum chandelier built around a dual-layer shade system: an outer brass drum perforated with a scrolling decorative pattern, and an inner cream fabric diffuser that softens the light before it passes through the metalwork. Three E14 bulbs inside the drum (sold separately) illuminate both the inner fabric and the perforated brass, casting a patterned glow onto surrounding walls and ceilings.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and bedrooms where the chandelier serves as both light source and decorative centrepiece, the Venera works in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.2m. The adjustable drop ranges from 59cm minimum to 141.5cm maximum, giving flexibility to position the chandelier 70-90cm above a dining table or 2m above floor level in a hallway depending on the ceiling height. The 46.4cm diameter suits tables and spaces 1.2-1.8m wide without overwhelming smaller rooms.

The brass finish has a satin-brushed quality rather than a high polish, which reduces glare under daylight and pairs well with warm wood tones, cream walls and traditional or transitional interiors. The perforated scroll pattern on the outer drum is symmetrical around the circumference, so the chandelier presents the same visual detail from any viewing angle. The chain and canopy match the brass finish of the drum, maintaining visual consistency from ceiling rose to shade.

Maytoni manufactures the Venera in Russia using stamped and formed steel for the perforated outer drum, with the brass finish applied after fabrication. The inner fabric diffuser is stretched over a wire frame and held in place by the lower rim of the drum, so the two layers remain aligned during installation and use. The combined metal and fabric construction gives the chandelier a 2.8kg weight, which requires a ceiling rose rated for at least 5kg to provide adequate fixing margin.
