Description

The Velvet is a 3W LED wall spotlight with a square 65mm backplate and a cylindrical adjustable head finished in matt black powder-coated metal. The integrated 3W LED delivers 3000K warm white light through a focused beam, and the head rotates on a ball joint to direct light at artwork, architectural features, or reading positions beside a bed or sofa.

Designed for bedrooms, living rooms, corridors and home offices where directed task or accent lighting is needed without ceiling fittings, the Velvet mounts directly onto the wall with screws through the backplate. The 85mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact enough for narrow hallways while providing sufficient clearance for the head to rotate without fouling the wall surface. The black switch on the backplate allows the spotlight to be turned on and off without needing a separate wall switch circuit.

The powder-coated metal finish resists surface wear and fingerprints better than gloss paint, making the Velvet suitable for high-traffic areas where hands might brush the fitting when reaching for the switch. The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior spaces — bathrooms and outdoor locations require higher ingress protection. The 3000K colour temperature sits in the warm white band, closer to incandescent bulbs than the cooler 4000K or 5000K tones often used in commercial interiors.

Is the Velvet dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is not compatible with dimmer switches and operates at full 3W output only. Installing it on a dimmer circuit may cause flickering or shorten the LED lifespan.

How much can the head be adjusted?

The cylindrical head rotates on a ball joint, allowing directional adjustment across approximately 180 degrees both horizontally and vertically. The joint holds position once set and does not require retightening.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating provides protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but no protection against moisture. Bathrooms require a minimum IP44 rating for zones 2 and 3, or IP65 for zones 0 and 1.

What colour is the light output?
