Description

The Valmere is a 130mm single pendant light cut from solid white marble with bold black and charcoal veining. The shade has a stepped cylindrical profile, with a narrower upper tier sitting on top of a broader lower cylinder, and hangs from a black braided cable and a polished black canopy. A single E27 lamp socket inside takes a standard screw-fit bulb (sold separately).

At 120mm tall and 130mm wide, the Valmere suits installation above bedside tables, breakfast bars, kitchen islands when hung in pairs or trios, and reading corners where a compact pendant is needed. The cable can be shortened on installation to set the drop appropriate to the ceiling height, with most users hanging the shade 700-800mm above a worktop or bedside surface. The canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses.

Because the shade is cut from natural marble, the pattern of veining differs between individual pieces. When the bulb is off, the stone reads as a cool white with sharp black streaks; when lit, the thinner sections of stone glow warm amber and the darker veins remain as defined contrast lines, giving the shade two distinct appearances depending on whether the light is in use. The solid stone construction gives the pendant a substantial feel without being oversized.

What bulb does the Valmere take?

The pendant uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-9W and 2700K-3000K works well with the marble, since warmer colour temperatures bring out the amber glow through the thinner sections of stone.

Does each pendant look the same?

No. Each shade is cut from natural marble, so the position, density and colour of the veining differs between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect, and pendants hung as a pair or trio will not be identical.

Can the cable be shortened?

Yes. The black braided cable can be adjusted on installation to set the drop appropriate to the ceiling height and the position of the surface beneath. Most installations sit the shade 700-800mm above a worktop or bedside table.

How is the marble cleaned?

Wipe the shade with a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust. For marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, acidic cleaners or polishes, as these can dull or etch the marble surface over time.
