Description

The Trim is a 210mm cube-form outdoor pedestal light built from graphite-finished aluminium with a white acrylic diffuser on four sides. An E27 bulb fitting inside the cube allows the light to radiate in all directions, diffused by the acrylic to reduce glare and provide even ambient illumination. The IP65 rating protects internal components against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making the fitting suitable for year-round outdoor installation on gate pillars, fence posts, wall caps and low garden bollards.

Designed for low-level decorative and wayfinding lighting rather than high-output security floodlighting, the Trim suits residential driveways, garden paths, patio boundaries and entrance pillars where soft ambient light is needed without overwhelming the surroundings. The 170mm square footprint fits standard brick pier caps and timber post tops, and the compact 210mm height keeps the fitting below typical eye level when mounted on a 600-900mm pillar. The graphite finish is a dark charcoal grey that recedes visually during the day and complements both modern rendered facades and traditional brick or stone.

The E27 fitting accepts any standard Edison screw bulb up to 15W, giving flexibility to choose LED colour temperature (warm white 2700K-3000K or cool white 4000K-5000K depending on preference) and lumen output to suit the installation. Most users pair the Trim with a 6-10W LED for pathway lighting or a 12-15W LED where brighter illumination is needed on a driveway or entrance feature. The aluminium body and UV-stabilised acrylic diffuser are both corrosion-resistant, and the IP65 seal at the base and bulb access panel prevents moisture entering the fitting in typical UK weather conditions.

What bulb does the Trim take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 Edison screw bulb up to 15W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users install a 6-10W warm-white LED for pathway lighting or a 12-15W LED for brighter driveway or entrance illumination.

Is it suitable for coastal locations?

The aluminium body and IP65 rating provide good weather resistance, but the graphite finish may degrade faster in salt-spray coastal environments compared to inland installations. Regular rinsing with fresh water can extend the finish lifespan in coastal areas.

How is the Trim mounted?

The base has fixing points for surface mounting onto a flat pillar cap, fence post top or garden bollard base. The 170mm square footprint fits standard brick pier caps and timber post tops. Installation requires mains-rated outdoor cable and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Can it be mounted directly on the ground?

The Trim is designed as a pillar or post-top light, not a ground spike bollard. Mounting it directly on soil or gravel would expose the base to moisture ingress and compromise the IP65 seal. For ground-level installation, use a proper bollard-style fitting with a sealed base.
