Description

The Torvani is a 490mm table lamp built around a rectangular grey marble block, framed top and bottom by polished brass overlays that sweep across the stone in mirrored diagonal curves. A slender brass stem rises from the centre of the marble body to a rectangular grey PVC shade, and the whole assembly sits on a stepped brass plinth measuring 400mm long and 200mm deep. A single E27 fitting is concealed inside the shade.

The Torvani suits console tables, sideboards, hallway tables and bedside tables in modern and contemporary interiors. The 400mm x 200mm footprint takes up roughly the same space as a hardback book on its side, so it fits comfortably on narrow consoles where deeper lamps would overhang. The 490mm overall height places the bottom of the shade at typical seated eye level when used on a sideboard, directing light down onto the surface rather than into the room.

The grey marble shows soft white veining that varies from piece to piece, so each Torvani has a slightly different pattern across the front and side faces. The brass overlays are polished to a high-shine finish that contrasts against the matt stone, and the stepped plinth extends just beyond the marble footprint to give the lamp a clearly defined structural base. What bulb does the Torvani take?

The lamp uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, which is not included. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to match the soft tone of the grey marble and brass.

Does the marble vary between pieces?

Yes. The grey marble is a natural stone with soft white veining, so the pattern across the front, sides and back differs slightly between individual lamps. This is a feature of the material rather than a defect.

Is the lamp dimmable?

The Torvani uses a standard E27 socket, so dimming depends on the bulb fitted and the dimmer used. Pair a dimmable LED bulb with a compatible LED dimmer or an inline cord dimmer to dim the output.

How is the marble cleaned?

Wipe the marble with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, then dry immediately. Avoid sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can stain or dull the stone surface.
