Description
The Torvane is a 300mm single pendant light built around a wide horizontal disc of light beige travertine, topped by a cylindrical walnut brown wood column that connects the disc to the suspension cord. A single GU10 lamp recesses into the underside of the disc, casting a focused downward beam framed by the surrounding stone. The combination of horizontal stone plate and vertical wood column gives the fitting a sculptural, architectural silhouette rather than a conventional shade-and-bulb form.
Suited to dining tables, kitchen islands, breakfast bars and reception desks, the Torvane works as task and accent lighting where a defined pool of light is wanted rather than wide ambient spread. The slim cord visually recedes above the fixture, keeping attention on the disc. Hung individually above a side table or in a row of two or three above a longer island, the pendant pairs comfortably with both contemporary and warm-toned interiors.
The travertine disc shows natural mineral speckling, fine pores and subtle tonal variation across its surface, so each Torvane reads slightly differently in colour and texture. The matte stone finish keeps the material honest, with no glossy sealant to flatten the patterning. The walnut brown wood column above carries a smooth grain that contrasts with the rougher edge of the stone disc, and the cord is finished in a tone that picks up the wood rather than competing with it.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Torvane take?
The pendant takes a single GU10 lamp, recessed into the underside of the travertine disc. Bulbs are sold separately. A warm-white 2700K-3000K GU10 LED between 4-7W typically suits the warm tones of the wood and stone for dining or task lighting.
Does each travertine disc look the same?
No. Travertine is a natural stone, so each disc shows different mineral speckling, pore patterns and tonal variation. This is a feature of the material rather than a defect, and means no two Torvane pendants are identical when lit.
What height should it hang at?
Above a dining table or kitchen island the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the surface. The supplied cord can be shortened on installation to suit the ceiling height, and the slim profile suits rooms with ceilings of 2.4m or higher.
How is the travertine cleaned?
Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust. The matte travertine is porous and unsealed, so avoid household sprays, polishes or damp cloths soaked with water, as these can mark the stone. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable.
