Description

The Torvane is a single pendant light built around a 250mm disc of natural travertine in light beige, paired with a cylindrical wooden column finished in dark walnut brown. The light source is recessed into a circular opening at the centre of the disc's underside and takes a single GU10 bulb (sold separately). The pendant hangs from a slim cord that runs through the top of the wooden column, keeping the suspension visually clean.

The wide horizontal disc and short vertical column give the Torvane a low-profile silhouette that suits dining tables, kitchen islands and breakfast bars where a pendant needs to deliver focused light without dominating the sightline. The recessed GU10 projects a controlled pool of light directly downward onto the surface below, while the inner edge of the travertine disc picks up a soft halo of reflected glow. Hang 700-800mm above a dining surface for typical task lighting.

Travertine is a natural sedimentary stone with open pores and visible mineral banding, so each disc shows different tonal variation and surface texture. The matte finish keeps the stone's character visible without adding sheen, and the warm beige tone pairs comfortably with the deep walnut wood above. At 250mm in diameter the disc reads as a defined architectural element rather than a small accent, suiting modern, Japandi and warm-minimalist interiors.

The pendant takes a single GU10 bulb, recessed into a circular opening at the centre of the travertine disc. Bulbs are sold separately. A warm-white LED GU10 around 5-6W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the warm beige and walnut tones.

Is it suitable above a dining table or kitchen island?

Yes. The 250mm disc and recessed GU10 give a focused downward beam suited to task surfaces. Typical hanging height is 700-800mm above the table or worktop. For islands longer than around 1.2m, consider hanging two or three Torvane pendants in a line.

Will the travertine look the same as the photo?

The disc is cut from natural travertine, so the pore pattern, mineral banding and tonal shifts vary between individual pieces. The overall light beige colour and matte finish are consistent, but the exact surface texture is unique to each pendant.

How is travertine cleaned?

Travertine is porous and softer than granite. Dust with a dry, soft cloth. For marks, a barely-damp cloth with plain water is acceptable. Avoid acidic cleaners, bleach, vinegar or general household sprays, as these can etch the surface.
