Description

The Tone is a 21.5cm pendant light built around a hand-blown amber glass dome suspended from a bronze metal canopy on a twisted textile-braided wire. The amber glass shows a warm honey tone when unlit and casts a diffused golden light when the E27 bulb inside is switched on, turning the glass itself into the primary light source rather than exposing the bulb directly.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and hallway positions where ambient light is needed without ceiling recess, the Tone hangs on an adjustable drop from 43.4cm to 153.4cm, allowing the pendant to be set 60-80cm above a worktop or 70-90cm above a dining surface depending on ceiling height. The twisted textile wire adds texture against smooth plaster ceilings and conceals the electrical cable run. The bronze metalwork includes the ceiling rose, a decorative stack of glass and metal components above the main dome, and the lampholder inside.

The amber glass is mouth-blown, so each dome shows slight variation in wall thickness and tonal intensity. The bronze finish on the metalwork is a mid-tone with visible grain that sits between polished brass and aged brass on the colour spectrum. The combination of warm amber glass and bronze metalwork pairs with oak, walnut, terracotta and other warm-toned materials common in traditional and transitional interiors.
