Standing at a taller 51.6cm, our Together Smooth Square 60 Coffee Table brings a little more height to your living room than the low version in the range. The square top measures 60 by 60cm, giving you a generous surface for books, a tray of drinks or a table lamp base, while the taller stance sits comfortably alongside a sofa or armchair. At 9.2kg it feels reassuringly solid, yet it stays easy enough to shift when you want to rework the room. We chose the square shape with softly rounded corners for a friendlier feel underfoot.

The finish here is our Dark Oak, a deeper, warmer tone that we think works beautifully in cosier spaces and against paler walls or lighter flooring. It is made from solid oak, oak veneered MDF and venetian cane, so you get the natural grain of real wood on the top with a woven lower tier that adds a lighter, more open note beneath. The plate combines veneered surfaces with solid oak lipping and a clear coat wood finish, which keeps the colour true and the edges neat. The legs are solid oak throughout, and we secure them with threaded rods for a firm, steady join.

That lower woven shelf gives you somewhere to keep magazines, a plant or a folded throw close to hand, so the coffee table earns its place rather than simply filling a gap. Assembly takes around 15 minutes, and because the legs fix on with threaded rods, you will not need any specialist tools or a great deal of patience to get it ready.
