Description

Solid dark oak and warm brown upholstery come together in our Reader Ottoman, a low piece for the quieter corners of a living room. The dark oak frame is open and honest, letting the shaped padded top sit lightly above it, while the brown polyester cover gives you somewhere soft to rest tired feet at the end of the day. We kept the proportions modest at 60cm wide and 42cm high, so it slips into place without crowding the furniture around it.

Because it stands only 42cm tall, the Reader tucks neatly beside a sofa or under the edge of a console, ready to be pulled out when you need it. The padded top is shaped for comfort, and at just 4.2kg it is light enough to lift and move between rooms with one hand. It is made from solid oak with laminated veneer, an MDF and PUR core, and a hard wearing polyester cover, so the piece that carries daily use stays steady underfoot. The brown tone reads as a soft, grounding shade that we find works happily against both pale and darker interiors, and the dark oak legs add a little depth beneath it.

Assembly takes around 15 minutes, and we include an assembly video to walk you through it, so there is no guessing over which leg goes where. Once it is together, use it as extra seating when friends arrive, as a footrest by your reading chair, or as a low surface for a tray of tea. At 46cm deep it holds its own without dominating the space, and the shaped top keeps it comfortable for long evenings. We think of it as one of those small, useful pieces you reach for more often than you expect, and we hope it earns its place in your home.
