Description
Our Reader Black Oak Ottoman is made from solid oak with a laminated veneer top and a soft polyester upholstery over PUR foam, bringing together sturdy materials in one compact piece. The shaped padded top sits on an open oak frame finished in Black Oak, giving it a low, grounded profile that sits neatly against a wall or at the foot of a bed in a bedroom. The upholstery is finished in Black, a deep and easy shade that works well alongside both pale and darker woods.
At 60cm wide, 46cm deep and 42cm high, this ottoman keeps a modest footprint while still offering a generous padded surface to rest against. It weighs just 4.2kg, so we find it easy to lift and move between rooms when the layout needs a rethink. The shaped top adds a gentle curve to the design, and the exposed oak legs lift the whole piece off the floor, keeping the look light rather than bulky. We assemble ours in around 15 minutes, and there is an assembly video to follow along with if you would rather work through each step visually.
We like this ottoman as a spot to sit while pulling on shoes, or as a soft surface to set down a tray or a stack of books near a reading corner. It pairs comfortably with a table lamp base close by and slots in well under a window or beside a low shelf. The combination of Black upholstery and the Black Oak frame gives us a piece that reads as considered without asking for too much attention. Solid oak underpins the whole thing, so we trust it to hold up to daily use, and the polyester top wipes down easily when the occasional spill happens.
