Description
The Tenax Pro is a 320mm anti-vandal bulkhead casing built from UV-stabilised polycarbonate with an eyelid hood that directs light downwards while shielding the diffuser from overhead impact. The casing carries IP66 weatherproof and IK10 impact ratings, making it suitable for commercial, industrial and high-traffic outdoor installations where vandalism or accidental damage is a concern. The casing accepts separately sold Tenax LED gear trays in 10W, 15W or 20W configurations.
Designed for wall and ceiling mounting in schools, multi-storey car parks, loading bays, covered walkways, stairwells and commercial building exteriors, the Tenax Pro mounts to a standard BESA electrical box or directly to a wall surface via multiple 20mm conduit entries on the rear. The eyelid hood prevents direct overhead strikes reaching the diffuser, while the stainless steel tamper-proof screws deter removal without specialist tools. The 82.5mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting clear of shallow wall recesses and allows airflow around the rear of the casing for heat dissipation.
The matt black polycarbonate body resists UV degradation and will not yellow or fade under prolonged sunlight exposure. The polycarbonate diffuser is impact-resistant and shatterproof under IK10 testing, which simulates a 5kg mass dropped from 400mm. The Class II double-insulated construction means no earth connection is required. When paired with a Tenax LED gear tray, the complete assembly delivers between 700lm and 1,300lm depending on the wattage chosen, all at 4000K neutral white.

Frequently Asked
Does the casing include the LED gear tray?
No. The Tenax Pro casing is sold separately from the LED gear trays, which must be purchased individually. Knightsbridge offers Tenax LED gear trays in 10W, 15W and 20W versions, all at 4000K.
What does IP66 and IK10 mean?
IP66 means the fitting is fully dust-tight and protected against high-pressure water jets from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor and wash-down environments. IK10 is the highest impact rating under the IK scale, meaning the fitting withstands a 5kg mass dropped from 400mm without damage.
Can it be mounted to a BESA box?
Yes. The rear of the casing is BESA-compatible and also provides multiple 20mm conduit entries for direct cable entry where no BESA box is present.
What does the eyelid design do?
The eyelid hood sits above the diffuser and directs light downwards, reducing glare and shielding the diffuser from overhead strikes. It is particularly useful on walls and ceilings where vandalism or accidental impact from above is expected.
