Description

The TENAX One is a 280mm round bulkhead casing built from UV-stabilised polycarbonate with an IP65 weatherproof rating and IK10 impact resistance. The casing accepts separately-sold TENAX LED gear trays rated at 10W, 15W or 20W, which deliver 1,200lm, 1,670lm or 2,100lm respectively at 4000K when installed. The white finish body and prismatic diffuser resist discolouration under long-term UV exposure.

Designed for commercial, industrial and outdoor installation where impact and weather resistance are required, the casing suits wall-mounting in car parks, loading bays, covered walkways, stairwells and industrial plant areas. The 70mm projection from wall keeps the diffuser clear of most surface-mounted conduit runs. Multiple 20mm conduit entries around the base allow cable entry from any angle, and the casing is compatible with BESA box mounting for standard UK electrical back boxes.

The polycarbonate body provides impact resistance up to IK10, meaning it withstands direct strikes from a 5kg mass dropped from 400mm without cracking. The IP65 rating protects internal components from dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making the casing suitable for external installation in most UK weather conditions excluding full submersion. Stainless steel tamper-proof screws secure the diffuser to the body, requiring a specific tool bit to remove — useful in public areas where unauthorised access needs to be prevented.

Does this casing include the LED gear tray?

No. The TENAX One casing is sold separately from the LED gear tray. You need to purchase a TENAX LED gear tray (10W, 15W or 20W) separately and install it inside the casing to create a complete working bulkhead light.

What does IP65 mean?

IP65 means the casing is fully dust-tight (the '6') and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction (the '5'). It can be installed outdoors in rain and damp conditions but is not rated for submersion or high-pressure washing.

Can this be mounted on a standard BESA box?

Yes. The casing is BESA box compatible, allowing it to be mounted onto a standard UK electrical back box. The multiple 20mm conduit entries around the base give flexibility for cable entry routes.

What is IK10 impact resistance?

IK10 is the highest rating on the IK impact scale. It means the casing withstands a 5kg mass dropped from 400mm without damage, making it suitable for areas where deliberate or accidental impacts are likely.
