Description
The Tenax One is a 280mm round bulkhead casing constructed from UV-stabilised polycarbonate in a black finish, rated to IP65 for weatherproofing and IK10 for impact resistance. The casing accepts separately-sold Tenax LED gear trays rated at 10W, 15W or 20W, which mount inside the body behind a prismatic diffuser. The polycarbonate construction resists corrosion and UV degradation, preventing the yellowing and embrittlement common in lower-grade outdoor lighting enclosures.
Designed for commercial, industrial and residential outdoor installation, the Tenax One casing mounts to standard BESA boxes and accepts multiple 20mm conduit entries for cable routing. The IP65 rating protects against water jets and dust ingress, making the fitting suitable for covered exterior walls, industrial facilities, car parks, storage areas and communal spaces where robust lighting is needed. The IK10 impact rating withstands 20 joules of impact energy, equivalent to a 5kg mass dropped from 400mm, providing resistance to vandalism and accidental knocks.
The black UV-stabilised body maintains its colour over extended outdoor exposure, while stainless steel tamper-proof screws secure the diffuser to the base, deterring casual tampering in accessible locations. The 70mm projection from the wall is shallow enough to avoid snagging in tight walkways but deep enough to accommodate the internal LED gear tray. When paired with a 10W Tenax gear tray the assembly delivers 1,200lm at 4000K; 15W delivers 1,670lm; 20W delivers 2,100lm, allowing output to be tailored to the application during installation.

Frequently Asked
Does this include the LED light source?
No. The Tenax One casing is sold separately from the LED gear tray. You need to purchase a Tenax 10W, 15W or 20W LED gear tray separately to complete the fitting. The gear tray mounts inside the casing and provides the actual light output.
What does IP65 and IK10 mean in practical terms?
IP65 means the fitting is fully protected against dust and can withstand water jets from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor installation in exposed locations. IK10 is the highest impact rating, withstanding 20 joules of impact energy, which provides resistance to vandalism and accidental knocks in public or industrial settings.
Is the casing compatible with BESA boxes?
Yes. The Tenax One casing mounts directly to standard UK BESA boxes, simplifying installation where BESA-mounted fittings are being replaced. Multiple 20mm conduit entries are also provided for surface-run cable installations.
Will the black finish fade outdoors?
The polycarbonate body is UV-stabilised to resist discolouration and degradation from sunlight. Unlike standard plastics that yellow or become brittle after a few years outdoors, the UV-stabilised material maintains its black finish and structural integrity over extended exposure.
