TENAX 10-20W CCT LED Gear Tray With Microwave Sensor

The Knightsbridge TENAX is a 235mm square LED gear tray with adjustable wattage (10W, 15W or 20W), colour temperature selection (3000K, 4000K or 5700K) and an integrated microwave sensor that detects movement up to several metres. A single aluminium PCB board carries all the SMD LEDs, driver electronics and sensor circuitry, reducing the number of discrete components that can fail and simplifying stock management when a single tray covers three wattages and three colour temperatures.

The gear tray is designed to retrofit into Knightsbridge TENAX One and TENAX Quad bulkhead casings (sold separately) using four butterfly clips that engage with the casing rim, plus a push-fit terminal block that eliminates screwdriver termination. The microwave sensor can be adjusted for detection area, daylight threshold and hold time via three rotary dials on the back of the tray, allowing the installer to tune sensitivity for corridors, stairwells, plant rooms and utility spaces where automatic lighting reduces running costs.

The aluminium substrate dissipates heat across the full 235mm square surface, which improves LED lifespan — the tray is rated for L70B50 at 40,000 hours, meaning 70% of the original lumen output remains after 40,000 hours of operation. The constant-current driver maintains stable output across the full mains voltage range. Luminous efficacy ranges from 141 lm/W at 20W up to 151 lm/W at 10W, with CRI >85 across all colour temperatures. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor environments only.

How do I adjust the wattage and colour temperature?

The gear tray has two sets of DIP switches or jumpers on the rear that allow wattage selection between 10W, 15W and 20W, and colour temperature selection between 3000K, 4000K and 5700K. These are set during installation before the tray is clipped into the casing. The lumen output varies depending on the combination selected — see the Specification table for exact figures.

What casing does this fit?

The TENAX gear tray is compatible with Knightsbridge TENAX One and TENAX Quad bulkhead casings. The casing is not included with the gear tray and must be purchased separately. The tray secures via four butterfly clips and a push-fit terminal block.

How does the microwave sensor work?

The integrated microwave sensor detects movement through non-metallic materials (plasterboard, wood, plastic diffusers) and can be tuned for detection range, daylight threshold and hold time via three rotary dials on the back of the tray. This allows you to configure the sensor to turn the light on only when motion is detected and ambient daylight is below a set level, then hold the light on for a specified period after the last motion event.

Can this be used in bathrooms or outdoor canopies?

No. The IP20 rating means the gear tray is suitable for dry indoor environments only. For damp environments, outdoor canopies or zones requiring IP44 or higher, you will need a different product with appropriate ingress protection.
