Description
The Starlux is a 65cm outdoor LED bollard in die-cast aluminium with a grey powder coat finish and a transparent tempered glass diffuser at the top. An integrated 8W LED module inside the glass emits 3000K warm white light directed downwards onto pathways, driveways and planted borders. The IP65 rating protects the internal components against water jets and dust ingress, making the bollard suitable for year-round outdoor installation in the UK climate.
Designed for pathway lighting, driveway edges, garden borders and patio perimeters, the Starlux provides ground-level task lighting rather than ambient illumination. The 65cm height positions the light source above typical border planting without dominating sightlines, and the downward beam angle keeps light out of windows and neighbouring properties. The bollard mounts onto a concrete base or paving slab via a fixing plate in the base, with cable entry from underneath.
The die-cast aluminium construction gives the bollard a 1.2kg weight that resists movement once installed, and the powder coat finish is more resistant to UV fade and corrosion than painted alternatives. The grey tone sits between anthracite and silver, pairing with both warm-toned brick and cooler render finishes. The transparent tempered glass diffuser is impact-resistant to IK08 standard, reducing the risk of breakage from accidental contact or garden maintenance equipment.
Ideal Lux manufactures the Starlux in Italy and backs it with a 5-year warranty covering LED module failure and construction defects. The integrated LED cannot be replaced by the end user, but at an expected lifespan of 25,000+ hours the module should outlast a decade of typical evening-only use before requiring replacement of the entire unit.

Frequently Asked
Can the LED be replaced if it fails?
No. The LED module is integrated into the bollard and cannot be replaced by the end user. However, the module is rated for 25,000+ hours of operation and is covered by a 5-year warranty against failure.
What IP rating does it carry?
IP65. The bollard is protected against water jets from any direction and complete dust ingress, making it suitable for year-round outdoor use in the UK including exposed coastal locations.
How is it installed?
The bollard mounts onto a concrete base or paving slab via a fixing plate in the base. The mains cable enters from underneath, so a conduit run or armoured cable needs to be installed below ground level before the bollard is fixed in position.
What beam angle does it have?
The transparent tempered glass diffuser directs light downwards onto the ground immediately surrounding the bollard. The beam is focused rather than wide-angle, designed to illuminate pathways and borders rather than provide broad ambient light.
