Description

The Spectra is a 40cm illuminated cube made from white opal plastic, designed for outdoor use in gardens, patios and pathways. A single E27 bulb inside the cube (sold separately) diffuses through the opal plastic walls, turning the entire 40cm cube into a soft light source. The fitting carries an IP44 rating, protecting internal components against splashing water from any direction.

Ideal Lux supplies the Spectra with a ground spike for securing into soil, grass or gravel, and a 2.15m cable terminating in a standard UK plug. This allows the cube to be positioned in flower beds, along garden borders, or grouped on gravel surfaces without requiring fixed wiring. The plug-and-spike configuration means the light can be moved seasonally or repositioned for events. The 40cm height sits low enough to avoid obstructing sightlines across a garden but tall enough to cast light across a 2-3m radius on pathways or seating areas.

The white opal plastic construction weighs less than equivalent glass cube lights, making the Spectra easier to reposition and less prone to breakage if knocked. The material diffuses light evenly across all six faces of the cube, creating a glowing object rather than a directional beam. When fitted with a warm-white E27 LED bulb, the cube produces ambient garden lighting; when fitted with an RGB smart bulb, the same fitting can be used for colour-changing decorative effects. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer and dimmable bulb.
