Description
The Sparx is a 1205mm linear LED suspension light built from extruded aluminium with a white powder-coated finish. It houses two integrated LED strips running the full length of the body, one facing upwards and one facing downwards, delivering a combined 40W output at 3000K. The bi-emission design spreads light across both the ceiling plane and the work surface or floor below, making it suitable for areas where balanced ambient and task lighting are needed without relying on additional fittings.
Designed for kitchen islands, home offices, reception desks and commercial counters, the Sparx sits 50mm deep and suspends on steel cables adjustable to a maximum 2150mm drop. The modular design allows multiple 1205mm units to be installed end-to-end on a shared circuit, or combined with the 1805mm variant for asymmetric layouts where one section of a room requires more concentrated light than another. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only.
The white finish keeps the fitting visually recessive in white or light-coloured ceilings, allowing the light output itself to define the space rather than the hardware. The extruded aluminium construction doubles as a heatsink for the LEDs, keeping the body cool enough to touch during continuous operation. At 40W total draw across both strips, the fitting delivers approximately 3,200 lumens, comparable to a 200W tungsten or 80W halogen linear fitting but with substantially lower running costs and a rated 30,000-hour lifespan.

Frequently Asked
Is the Sparx dimmable?
No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming. If dimming is required, consider specifying a DALI or 0-10V compatible linear fitting from the Ideal Lux commercial range.
Can multiple units be joined end-to-end?
Yes. The modular design allows multiple 1205mm units to be installed in a line on the same circuit. Each unit requires its own ceiling fixing point and cable run, but visually they read as a continuous light bar when positioned with minimal gaps between bodies.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 2150mm cable length allows the fitting to hang comfortably in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.5m. For a kitchen island or desk application, typical installation height is 700-900mm above the work surface, requiring a ceiling height of at least 2.5m to avoid head clearance issues.
Does the upward light cause glare on white ceilings?
The upward-facing LED strip is diffused and does not create a hot spot. On a white or light-coloured ceiling the reflected light adds to the overall ambient illumination without producing visible striping or glare when viewed from typical standing or seated positions in the room.
