Description

The Sparx is a 45W constant voltage LED driver with 1-10V dimming control, designed to power LED strip lighting, modular LED panels and bi-directional LED fixtures from Ideal Lux. The driver delivers a stable DC output at 24V, maintaining consistent brightness across the connected LED load and allowing smooth dimming from 100% down to approximately 10% via a compatible 1-10V control signal.

Installed within ceiling voids, under-cabinet cavities or behind wall panels, the driver pairs with 1-10V dimmer switches, automation systems and DMX-to-1-10V converters to provide adjustable lighting control in residential, hospitality and commercial interiors. The slim 280mm x 21mm profile fits into shallow ceiling plenums and narrow cabinet gaps where standard drivers cannot. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments — kitchens, living rooms, retail displays, office task lighting and museum cases.

The constant voltage output prevents flicker and voltage drop across LED strip runs, maintaining even brightness along the full length of the installation. The driver operates on standard 220-240V mains input and includes thermal overload and short-circuit protection to prevent damage during faults. The 5-year warranty covers the electronic components and dimming circuitry under normal operating conditions.

What is 1-10V dimming and what control do I need?

1-10V is an analogue dimming protocol that uses a separate low-voltage control wire to adjust brightness. You need a 1-10V compatible dimmer switch or control system — standard mains dimmers will not work. The driver receives a 1-10V signal from the control device and adjusts the output accordingly.

What LED fixtures does this driver support?

The Sparx 45W driver is designed primarily for the Ideal Lux Sparx LED range of bi-directional strip fixtures, but it also powers any 24V constant voltage LED strip or modular panel with a total load up to 45W. Confirm the voltage and wattage requirements of your LED fixture before connecting.

Can it be installed in bathrooms or outdoor locations?

No. The IP20 rating means the driver is not protected against moisture or dust ingress and must be installed in dry indoor environments only. For bathroom or outdoor LED installations you need an IP44 or IP65 rated driver.

What's the minimum and maximum dim level?

1-10V dimming typically allows brightness adjustment from 100% down to approximately 10%. The exact minimum depends on the connected LED load and the quality of the control signal — some LED strips dim lower than others on the same driver.
