Description

The Spark is a 35cm diameter flush-mount LED ceiling light with a white powder-coated aluminium base and a textured polycarbonate diffuser. An integrated 18W LED emits 4000K neutral white light, providing functional illumination for bathrooms, hallways, utility rooms and covered outdoor areas. The 45mm projection from the ceiling makes it suitable for rooms with low ceiling heights where a pendant would intrude.

Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the Spark carries an IP40 rating, meaning it's protected against solid objects over 1mm but not against direct water ingress. This makes it appropriate for bathrooms outside the shower zone, under covered outdoor canopies, and in high-humidity spaces like laundries. The integrated LED cannot be replaced, but Ideal Lux backs the unit with a 5-year warranty covering LED failure.

The white finish on the aluminium base and the textured diffuser reduce glare from the 18W LED while distributing light evenly across the room. The 4000K colour temperature sits between warm white and daylight, providing neutral light that renders colours accurately without the yellow cast of 3000K or the blue tint of 6000K. The flush-mount installation fits directly to a standard UK ceiling rose without needing additional suspension hardware.

Is the Spark suitable for bathroom use?

The IP40 rating protects against dust and solid objects but not against direct water spray. It can be used in bathrooms outside zones 0, 1 and 2 (typically more than 60cm from the bath or shower), but not directly above a bath or inside a shower enclosure.
